Car Safe Kids Always Welcomes New Volunteers!

People are our most valuable resource. Helping families travel more safely can be very rewarding, and we would love to have you join the team in any of the following ways:
  • Non-Checker Volunteers - "Greeters" and "runners" are essential to any event and help make everything run more smoothly and safely.
  • Scribes - Interested in doing car seat checks, but not yet trained? The scribe position allows you to shadow a trained checker. The scribe provides useful assistance while learning the basics of car seat checking.
  • Car Seat Checkers - At the heart of the car seat check event, these volunteers provide one-on-one training for parents and/or caregivers. The number of checkers at each event is directly correlated with the number of families that we can serve.

Checkers must complete a minimum 4- or 8-hour training class through the Safety Restraint Coalition or be a certified technician by completing a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration 32-hour course.

Car Safe Kids operates in the Seattle and Eastside areas. For more information on volunteer and training opportunities, contact us through the Safety Restraint Coalition at (425) 828-8975 or see their website at www.800bucklup.org and click on "Training".
